The Loop---New Section Now Open in Marana!
The Chuck Huckelberry Loop, an extensive network of paved pathways and bike lanes, offers an incredible 137 miles of scenic routes encircling the perimeter of Pima County. This shared-use system connects people to nature, providing a unique way to explore Marana, Oro Valley and Tucson.
The newest section of The Loop is now open in Northern Marana where you can park and ride at North Sanders Road and the Santa Cruz River and ride for more than 33 miles to West Valencia Road in Midvale Park, offering a new and continuous pathway for cyclists, walkers, and runners.

TIP: You can also begin your ride at Heritage River Park or Gladden Farms Park off Tangerine Road. Bathrooms and water are available at these locations in Northern Marana.
The Marana section of The Loop takes visitors through beautiful natural landscapes, including the serene El Rio Preserve in Southern Marana’s Continental Ranch neighborhood. Located just off Twin Peaks, near the I-10 and west of the Tucson Premium Outlets at Marana Center, this small lake in the desert has more than 250 types of birds!
The Loop is designed to be accessible for everyone. You can easily plan your ride or walk by mapping out where to hop on and how far to go. Whether you're looking for a short trip or a longer ride, The Loop provides endless opportunities for outdoor recreation.

DID YOU KNOW? The Loop is named after Chuck Huckelberry, the former County Administrator whose vision and leadership made this expansive trail system possible. Thanks to his dedication, Tucson and its surrounding communities have one of the largest urban trail systems in the country.
