Enjoy a morning on the trails in Marana!

Tortolita Preserve offers magnificent vistas and showcases the distinct plant and animal communities of the Sonoran Desert. Join a Pima County Conservation Lands and Resources naturalist for a morning of guided exploration, wandering among the stately saguaros as we watch for birds and other wildlife that make their homes in this beautiful patch of native desert vegetation.

Trekking poles are encouraged, and sure-footedness is a must.

Designed for ages 12 and up and registration is required.

Group meets at Tortolita Preserve Trailhead at the end of Moore Road. Bring water and snacks (but leave no trace!) and be sure to wear sunscreen.

$5 for Marana Residents, $6.25 for non-residents

The Tortolita Preserve was established in 2009, to preserve fascinating, monumental Saguaros, Ironwood trees, and habitat that exemplifies the desert valley ecosystem. It is located on the Tortolita Fan, a flat area at the foothills of the Tortolita Mountains, shaped by the water flows off the mountains.
