It is located approximately 15 nautical miles northwest of Tucson and is 5 miles west of Interstate 10 on Avra Valley Road. The airport is home to more than 260 based aircraft and had more than 90,000 takeoffs and landings in 2014. The airport's main runway is 6,901 feet and the crosswind runway is 3,892 feet.
